Parallax Backgrounds

When I use this widget for backgrounds, why do I see beyond the edge of the image?

Try keeping your 'depth' setting below .5

How did you create the bubbles and spinning movement in the advanced demo?

We added video with our Full Width Videos widget, and also used our Rotating Animations widget on the lettuce and tomato elements

Frame Scrubber

Frame Scrubber isn't working!

Make sure all of your frames are uploaded using File > Add Files for Upload. Also, be sure to use just 3 digits of numbers after the prefix in your file name.

Why does my page take so long to load?

The page has to load all of the images at once, so use the smallest file sizes possible for individual frames.

Mumblr - Blog Content

Is Mumblr SEO-friendly?

Yes! Mumblr content is indeed indexed by Google.

The long answer:

Our Mumblr widget uses Javascript to pull in the content inline. So basically there's code that says "go fetch this content, pull it into the site and place it here". We wrapped that content in CSS, which gives us the ability to style it up as you see fit using the widget panel.

Now the interesting here is that when you "View Source" on a site that uses the Mumblr widget, the content isn't obvious within the code - that's because the Javascript needs to run to pull everything in. We did a ton of research, and it turns out that Google DOES run the JS prior to indexing the site content, which means it absolutely will see and index all of that Tumblr content within your site (call this "dynamic content").

Here's a great link explaining how Googlebot indexes dynamic content - this is from SearchEngineLand, which is a highly reputable source for SEO news (look for section #3- Dynamically Inserted Content):

Why does my blog overlap my footer?

A super simple way to correct this is to place an element below the blog widget in Muse design mode. Something like a rectangle with an empty fill will work great. See an example in the video above, right around 9 minutes, 15 seconds in.

Can I create a background fill for my blog, separate from my page fill?
Yes! A neat trick to accomplish this is to place a rectangle behind the widget, just larger than the widget container. Use whatever color you like in the rectangle. You will find that the rectangle extends to match the length of the blog feed, regardless of height. See an example in the video above at 8 minutes, 20 seconds in.

Do I have to redirect to Tumblr's site when people click on a post or image?

Nope! The updated version 11.3 gives the option of opening a lightbox in addition to redirecting to Tumblr.

Can I create separate feeds on my site, based on the same blog?

Yep! The "Filter By Tag" feature in the updated 11.3 version works great for creating multiple unique feeds!

Versa Slide

When I click on a link within the menu, it seems that the new page loads inside of the menu area.

This bug was corrected in version 11.3. If you are experiencing this issue, please download the widget again from this page.

I love this widget, but don't want the menu to go full screen.

Dropdown List

How many levels of sublists can I use?

As many as you like - it's infinite!

How do I link to internal pages within my own website?

In the "Link URL" field, simply enter the actual internal page name + "html". So if the page you would like to link to is titled "about", enter "about.html". No need to use http://.

Presentation Panels

Why doesn't your live preview work right in Safari?

Presentation Panels works great in Safari. Our live preview system uses an iframe, which has a strange quirk when viewed in Safari. When used in your own project, you will not have any issues.

When I use Presentation Panels, I can't see the header or footer I use throughout my site.

Since Presentation Panels is a full screen widget, it's designed to "take over" the page - so content such as a header or footer will be overridden by the widget. This is why we've added the header and footer options within the widget options. The best way to do it is to create state buttons that are designed to look exactly like your header and footer areas, and define the applied graphic styles in the widget panel.

Facebook Photo Albums

The "Load More" button in your live preview looks different than mine.

By using a custom "Load More" button, you can make the button look any way you like. State buttons or text boxes work great.

When I use the "Load More" button on my published site, it doesn't move the content below downward properly.

Make sure that there are no elements overlapping each other at all. An easy way to check is Edit > Select All.

Accordion Hover

How did you create the horizontal accordion seen in your live preview?

By simply rotating the Accordion Panel widget 90 degrees, it will open sideways. An explanation of this can be found at the 3:30 mark in the tutorial video.

Why does my page always load with the first accordion panel open? I want all of the panels closed until hovered upon.

You will want to make sure that you close all panels in Muse Design mode before publishing or previewing. If a panel is left open in design mode, it will display this way by default when published or previewed.

Dynamic Slide

How do I add animated images in addition to the text?

Images can be added to the caption area by copying and pasting directly into the text box. Once an image is placed, it should be treated as if it were a text character by positioning with the cursor.

How did you add music to the advanced demo?

If you place our MP3 Player widget in design mode outside of the page area, then set the player to autoplay, it works great for background music.

Selz Ecommerce

Since Shoplocket is no longer an option, is Selz a good replacement?

It sure is! Selz is super easy to set up and maintain, like Shoplocket was, but Selz actually has a more robust feature set.

Can I print orders or customer lists?

Yep! Selz allows direct export of CSV files directly from their dashboard.
